The Q Revo is a great option for those looking for an affordable mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

In tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. It does not use LIDAR, however, as other models do, to identify your home.

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and impressive cleaning power, such as the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is setup you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button. You can select a general clean that prioritizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal or go for two thorough mappings of your area to ensure that your entire home gets a proper look.

This robot vac performs well on both floors that are bare and carpets with low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as other models do and can pick up pet hair with ease. It's not able to work with plush or high-pile carpets, but iRobot says that future models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to hug furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the traditional hockey puck shape of robovacs, but we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.

The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first go. It can vacuum up even wet spills. Its mops also do a great job in removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
